Twin Gables Guest House - Affordable Accommodation in Mamre

Twin Gables Guest House is a family-run business operating since 2009, situated in Mamre, seven kilometers from the Atlantis city centre and just under an hour`s drive from Cape Town. This Moravian mission settlement has a rich, colonial history with several national monuments, surrounded by the world famous West Coast wild flowers, complimented by the equally well known Darling Wine Cellar, Groote Post, Cloof and Swartland Wineries, known to stock some of the region`s best wines. This rich tradition, coupled with a very strong sense of community makes it a very safe place to live and visit.

The impressive guest-house in Henning Huisen Street is managed by Travis Petersen, assisted by brother Scott and their mother Dawn Petersen, who go out of their way to ensure guests enjoy a pleasant and memorable stay.

Mamre, despite being close to Cape Town, is still a relatively unknown village. However, it's quaint nature, closely knit community, and centuries of traditions, have made this little Moravian settlement a very popular destinations for city dwellers to visit.

Tourism Grading Council of South Africa(TGCSA) has recently re-affirmed Twin Gables Guest House  Three Star Grading status. Twin Gables Guest House offers you an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Even though it is situated only 50kms from Cape Town, it provides all the peace and tranquility one would normally associate with the countryside. The balcony provides breathtaking views of unpolluted clear blue skies during the day and evening skies filled with brightly-lit celestial bodies which light up the whole village.

There are six bedrooms, with a combination of en-suite, private and shared bathroom facilities. Secure parking, internet, DSTV, laundry services, an in-house masseuse/beauty therapist and Free Wi-Fi are just some of the added benefits of the establishment. The guesthouse also boasts a communal dining hall and a conference hall accommodating up to 30 guests, making it ideal for small birthday parties, anniversaries, pre-matric parties or other social gatherings. Upstairs is a communal lounge and balcony, where guest can relax under the umbrellas, enjoy a braai, all of course weather permitting.
